Translation:
My dear Uddhava, neither pholosopical speculation nor penances give me such pleasure as devotional service practised by living entities.

Lord Sri Krsna is very dear only to his devotees. and his love can also be achieved by practicing devotions or by devotional service. When any lower person (person living in evils life) becomes devotee his all pains are automatically vanished because on that times he becomes free from all material contaminations. Srila Prabhupada gives example that when a poor man gets some treasury he becomes happy like that similarly when any body becomes devotee then he happy.
But one should not think that becoming free from the bondage of maya is the end of approaching krsna.
In vedas we can find that loving relationship between supreme personality of god head and the living entities is function of devotional service. Our actual function or duty is devotional service and our goal should be to acheive the love of supreme personality of god head
In vedas we can find that krsna is the ultimate center from where knowledge of krsna and problems of life are solved.
